We thank you for your leadership and support of JBRC. Your dedication has resulted in unparalleled access to contracts, training, funding and other support services necessary for small, minority, and women-owned businesses to succeed.
Small business has great opportunities, even in today’s economic climate. They include the construction of the World Trade Center site in lower Manhattan and at Columbia University in upper Manhattan to the tremendous activity in each of the boroughs: Downtown Brooklyn is exploding, Long Island City is growing, aiports are expanding, the Bronx , headlined by the new Yankee stadium project, has a plethora of opportunities new developments throughout New York are fast emerging.
In addition to these major developments, we continue to join forces with leading public sector procurement partners which include the New York City School Construction Authority, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Empire State Development Corporation, the Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority and the New York City Department of Small Business Services, among others.
We are also grateful for wonderful partnerships with leading private sector procurement and financial sector partners ranging from Con Edison, Time Warner, Inc., and St. John’s University to major construction management firms and commercial banks.
The mission of the Board of Directors of JBRC is to implement programs that ensure the broad participation of our clients in these programs through improved operations and value added innovations.
The success of JBRC is due to its people. We salute the Board of Directors for their leadership; the staff for its entrepreneurial spirit and focus; JBRC’s clients for their commitment to providing the highest quality services; and our partners in industry that have successfully included small, minority and women-owned businesses in procurement opportunities through their supplier diversity programs as well as access to capital and bonding programs/initiatives.
We thank all of the partners that have invested in JBRC’s vision and programs, including governmental entities, major corporations, small businesses, foundations, and community developers.
The Board would like to especially thank Rev. Br. Floyd H. Flake, Mr. Timothy Marshall and the JBRC staff for their leadership and commitment. The Board salutes all of the participants in JBRC’s programmatic activities. We look forward to an even brighter future as JBRC significantly increases its $450 million of economic impact during this second decade of operations.
